The film festival hit “Anna and the Apocalypse” released its first trailer in preparation for its wide release for the holiday season.
Described as “Shaun of the Dead meets La La Land” by Alex Billington of First Showing, the film is already making a splash in the zombie world.
The film first garnered a following while making its appearances on the film festival circuit. Since then it has continued to gather support, landing a 90% on rotten tomatoes already.
The film is about the small town of Little Haven that comes under attack by hordes of the undead. Title character Anna must run, fight and sing her way through the apocalypse with the help of her best friend, John, and other survivors of the town.
The films stars Ella Hunt (Our Robot Overlords) as Anna, Malcolm Cumming (Aquarius) as her best friend, John, and Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones) as Savage.
Director John McPhail is fairly new to directing feature length films, only have directed “Where Do We Go From Here?”, a 2015 romcom.
With all the singing, dancing and zombie mayhem one can expect from a zombie musical, “Anna and the Apocalypse” is set for release in select theaters on Nov. 30 and nation wide on Dec. 7.
