Activision has released the intro cinematic for Call of Duty: Vanguard’s zombie mode, called “Der Anfang.” Der Anfang translates into English as “the beginning” hinting that there may be insight into the origin of the Call of Duty zombie origin.

According to Activision, the game promises WWII combat like never before. Players will get to witness the origins of Special Forces as they play a pivotal role and change the face of history, forming Task Force One in a gripping campaign across four major theaters of war. Players will become an original Special Forces Operator in an online multiplayer rich in innovation with 20 maps available at launch.

Of interest to zombie fans is the franchise-first, universe-expanding Zombies crossover.
