After having directing the vampire flick, Only Lovers Left Alive, Jim Jarmusch is set to move on to zombie films with some legendary names in music with the release of The Dead Don’t Die on June 14.
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, punk legend Iggy Pop, musician Tom Waits, rapper RZA and pop star Selena Gomez all have significant roles in the movie. While the cast is a diverse medley of musicians according to the films distributor Focus Feature this is “the greatest zombie cast ever disassembled.”
While each musician is well known in their own genre, some of the actors have previous experience working with Jarmusch. Iggy Pop was in Dead Man a film from 1995 and RZA appeared in the 1999 film Ghost Dog: the Way of the Samurai, as well as wrote the score.
In addition to the musicians in the film, legendary actors, Bill Murray, and Tilda Swinton will appear in the film. Swinton starred in the 2013 film Only Lovers Left Alive and Murray appeared in the 2003 film Coffee and Cigarettes.
