Shopping smart is something you should always do, no matter what you’re looking for. Laying down dollars for a few pieces of high-quality gear and supplies now, rather than having a lot of low-grade goods and materials, will save you money, time and frustration in the long-run… and in some cases it can also save your life.
When it comes to acquiring gear and supplies for your Bug Out Bag, E-kit, general preparedness, or even everyday needs, always focus on quality over quantity. One well-made Bug Out Bag or flashlight is worth 10 second-run or discount versions of the same thing… even if they come fully stocked or with extra batteries or a lanyard. It’s better to be short a piece of equipment than rely on one that breaks down mid-use or doesn’t work out of the box.
This doesn’t mean that you have to spend top dollar on Anti-Zombie and survival gear, there is a lot of great gear out there in the world for reasonable prices… just make sure to research what you’re getting yourself into before adding it to your collection.
