While any good zombie story involves the dead rising, it looks like a sequel to Brad Pitt’s 2013 zombie film might be dead for good.
The first film, a loose adaptation of Max Brooks’s wildly popular novel, was not a favorite of the critics, but it did bring in $540 million dollars at the box office.
The fact that its already been almost 6 years since the original film’s release is one indication that the sequel is struggling. The loss of its original director and year-long negotiations to hire a second one also add to the problems. However, multiple media outlets are now reporting that financial concerns are the reason Paramount has pulled the plug.
Only time will tell how dead the film actually is.
