New Line Cinema has acquired the rights to the remake of “Train to Busan,” the Korean zombie hit of 2017, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Gary Dauberman on board to write the new script. Dauberman is known for his writing on “IT,” “Annabelle Creation” and, most recently, “The Nun.”
James Wan will be producing the upcoming remake through his production company Atomic Monster. Wan and Dauberman are no strangers to working together, with Wan having produced both “Annabelle Creation” and “The Nun.”
The French film company Gaumont will also be producing, as will Atomic Monster’s president of production, Michael Clear.
While very little about the American remake is known, having horror powerhouses like Wan and Dauberman working on it gives a glimmer of hope for the upcoming film.
