The Kansas City Zombie Walk for Hunger is a grass roots charity founded in May of 2008. Oct. 12th, will be the 11th semi-annual walk in Kansas City where the zombie horde is growing bigger and stronger each year.

The walk will start at Mill Creek Park Kansas City, MO (J.C. Nichols Fountain or “horse fountain” on the Country Club Plaza). Registration is at 3 PM and the walk will start at 4 PM. All food must be checked in by 3:45 PM. Suggested time of arrival is 2:30 PM. Since parking is limited or in garages within walking distance, it is best to arrive around 2:30 PM. It can get a little difficult finding legal parking. Make sure you leave yourself enough time to park and walk to the meet up site.

The KC Zombie Walk is all about feeding and assisting the hungry, and spectators are encouraged to donate as well.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK IN AT ONE OF THE TABLES TO TURN YOUR DONATION IN. ONCE YOUR DONATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED YOU WILL RECEIVE A TICKET OR WRISTBAND SO THAT WE KNOW THAT YOU HAVE, EITHER, TURNED IN YOUR DONATION OR MADE THE OPTIONAL $5.00 DONATION.

If you have combined donations please make sure EVERY PERSON CHECKS IN, so you can get your ticket/band. For Example: One person is not allowed to donate for 5 people while the other 4 are out conversing with other walkers. Their donation will be counted as one large donation for one person.

While this is family friendly, children are welcomed at your own risk. We are NOT liable for anything that may offend both children and/or adults. If you find someone’s costume offensive please keep your thoughts to yourself. These walks are about feeding the hungry.

BLOOD STATION!!!

Organizers will once again have a blood station at this walk, however, it will be handled a little differently for this walk. In order to receive a “blood bath” at the blood station we will be asking for a minimum donation of $1.00. the size of your donation will reflect your blood disbursement. Just 1 gallon of blood is very costly, and organizers try to be as generous as legitimately possible. All donations will count towards the operation of the walk, which includes blood.

Route

A general route will be posted when you arrive. Participants will be walking for at least an hour. Remember though the route is not set in stone, if the leader decides to veer off, the remainder will follow.

As always, I will be posting the rules of the walk. as the walk continues to grow, we continue to have more problems with participants NOT following the rules. There will be security members throughout the walk watching for people breaking the rules. If you are caught breaking these rules you will be asked to leave the walk immediately.
