For generations the food-chain relationship between people and zombies has been constant: zombies eat people. But now, a California-based company is looking to turn the established order on its head.
Since 2010, Harcos Labs has been spreading its message that “zombies are delicious” serving up a variety of zombie-themed products.
The company, founded in 2007, actually started out making an energy drink packaged to look like a blood transfusion bag. They built on that concept releasing Zombie Blood and Zombie Jerky. The response was immediate and led to an expanded product line.
“Zombies are so popular now,” said Natalie Mosesian, director of new business development.
“When our Facebook page Zombies Are Delicious blew up with fans we figured that we should come up with some additional items to carry.”
One of the first new items to come out of the lab was Dried Zombie Skin, a seaweed product.
“We had been munching on dried seaweed around the office – some thought the stuff was disgusting while others (like myself) really liked the stuff ,” Mosesian said. “Our team brainstormed some ideas and Dried Zombie Skin was born.”
