While the franchise will continue on, the original AMC zombie series “The Walking Dead” will end with the conclusion of its eleventh season. The trailer for the final season was released as part of the virtual Comic-Con this weekend.

The season premiere officially will be on August 22, but it will actually debut on AMC+ on August 15. Official sources say episodes will come a week early all season for those who subscribe to the premium streaming service.

The final season is set to be bigger than previous seasons with a slate of 24 episodes. The season will be broken up into three 8-episode segments, however, with the series finale not being broadcast until 2022.
