After seeing its debut at the Sundance Film Festival, zombie film “Little Monsters” is getting ready for full distribution.

Up and coming distribution company Neon won the rights to distribute the film theatrically while Hulu will have streaming rights.

Lupita Nyong’o stars in the film as Miss Caroline the music teacher and chaperone of a class trip. In addition to a host of school kids, the cast includes Alexander England as Dave, a directionless slacker and uncle who is looking to impress Miss Caroline. Josh Gad also appears as Teddy McGiggle, an obnoxious children’s television personality who shapes the excursion’s activities.

Against this seemingly rom-com set-up, writer/director Abe Forsythe also delivers a zombie outbreak that results from a military experiment gone awry. According to the film’s Sundance write-up, “this genre comedy forges a path all its own, blending gore and wit like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.”
