Personal grooming may not seem like a priority for surviving a Zombie outbreak, but ignoring your hair and keeping your locks long can easily get you killed.
Zombies are grabbers, just like thick brush and rubble can be. They’ll snatch and claw at anything they can get their hands on, and they wont let go…no matter what. The dangers of having long loose hair doesn’t stop with a Zombies grabby hands, in fact there’s plenty more where that came from.
Other Potential Dangers: Allowing your hair to get or remain long increases the risk of many unwelcome circumstances, as seen below.
- Head-lice, and other unwanted critters making home on your head and body.
- Obscuring your view.
- Catching fire over an open flame.
- Getting caught in weaponry and/or machinery
- Heightened difficulty keeping proper hygiene.
While the dangers listed might not sound like that big of a deal, any one of them could easily mean an uncomfortable end during a disaster situation such as a Zombie outbreak or attack…or even a major earthquake, hurricane, or other natural disaster.
Do yourself a favor and keep your hair cropped close, or at least up and out of the way. If you just can’t let it go, try braiding it and tucking it under a hat, putting it up in a bun, or even using something like a Hoo-Rag to keep it under control. But no matter what you do, keep it clean, and keep it out of your face.
Besides, don’t you want to look your best when and if a rescue party comes?
