People trained for combat are told to keep their head on a swivel. The advice is sound, as focusing in one direction leaves you prone to attack from another. The newly released poster for the resumption of The Walking Dead television series on AMC takes a different approach, telling viewers “Don’t look back.”

Of course, it’s the same command Rick gave Carl as they fled the overrun prison in the mid-season finale. It’s worth noting, though, that Carl appears to be looking back.

What also stands out about the poster is the absence of many key characters. There’s no Daryl, Michonne, Tyrese, Glenn, Maggie, Beth or Carol. Just a father and son heading into the hazy future. We don’t know what’s out there, but we know that, after a season and a half, the prison is behind us.
