The Walking Dead’s Top 5 Villains

Now that “The Walking Dead” has reached the conclusion of its main series run, we thought it would be fun to take a look back at its villains. From ruthless leaders to cunning psychopaths, the show has introduced us to some of the most unforgettable villains in television history.

The Wolves

Starting out the Top 5 is a team entry. The Wolves are a group of scavengers who are introduced in season 5. They are a violent and unpredictable group who attack communities and take whatever they can find. The Wolves are not driven by any particular ideology or leader, but they are still a formidable threat to the show’s heroes. They are responsible for some of the most shocking and brutal moments in the show’s history, including the massacre of the residents of Alexandria.

Gareth
Next up is Gareth, played by Andrew J. West, who is the leader of Terminus, a group of survivors who lure people into their community with promises of safety and shelter, only to use them as a food source. Gareth is a manipulative and calculating villain who is not afraid to use violence to achieve his goals. He is responsible for some of the most disturbing moments in the show’s history, including the scene where he and his group eat Bob’s leg in front of him.

Alpha
In the number 3 spot is Alpha, played by Samantha Morton, who is the leader of the Whisperers, a group of survivors who disguise themselves as walkers to avoid detection. She is a cold and calculating villain willing to sacrifice anyone, including members of her own group, to achieve her goals. Alpha is responsible for the deaths of many beloved characters, including the show’s main protagonist, Rick Grimes’ son, Carl.

The Governor
A contender for the top spot, but ultimately second on our list is The Governor, played by David Morrissey. Introduced in season 3, he is the leader of Woodbury, a seemingly idyllic town where survivors have found refuge. However, as the series progresses, it becomes clear that the Governor is a cruel and manipulative man, willing to do whatever it takes to maintain his power. He is responsible for some of the most gruesome moments in the show’s history, including the massacre at the prison.

Negan
Really, who else would possibly be in the top spot? Played by the talented actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Negan is undoubtedly the most iconic villain from The Walking Dead. Introduced in season 6, Negan is the ruthless leader of a group of survivors known as the Saviors. He is known for his charismatic personality, crude sense of humor, and his trademark weapon, Lucille – a baseball bat covered in barbed wire. Negan is not afraid to use violence and intimidation to get what he wants, and he is responsible for some of the most shocking and heartbreaking moments in the show’s history. All these years (and a redemption arc) later, fans still haven’t forgiven him for killing Glenn.
