Zack Snyder, who directed the remake of George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, is returning to the zombie genre with a film of his own called “Army of the Dead,” and thanks to a tweet we now know when the film will be available.
Principal photography took place in 2019 with a series of reshoots happening in 2020. The reshoots were, in part, made to all Tig Notaro (Star Trek: Discovery) to replace Chris D’Elia, who came under fire after allegations of sexual harassment of underage girls surfaced.
Earlier this week Snyder tweeted that the film will hit Netflix on May 21 and that a new trailer will drop Thursday.
In addition to Notaro, the film stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell and Omari Hardwick as part of an ensemble cast. According to Netflix, the film takes place after a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, and tells the story of a group of mercenaries taking the ultimate gamble by venturing into the quarantine zone for the greatest heist ever.
